Tips for parents

  • Let your child pick one camp. Kids this age enjoy having a say.
  • Try a different camp type each month to find what sticks.
  • Check whether older and younger campers are split into separate groups.

Common questions

How many weeks of camp do most families book?

It varies widely. Families who work full time often fill most of summer, from mid-May to mid-August, with a mix of day camps and specialty weeks; others book a few favorites around vacations.

How much do camps for ages 8–10 cost?

Among the 44 camps for ages 8–10 we list with published prices, weekly prices start at $100 and go up to about $1,749 (2026 and 2027 prices). Full-day, extended care and member rates vary, so check each camp’s page for details.

When does registration open for camps for ages 8–10?

None of these camps have announced their next registration date yet. Most post summer dates in January or February, and popular weeks fill quickly. Sign up for registration alerts so you don’t miss opening day.
