Full-day summer camps for working parents in Frisco (2027)

A “full-day” camp that ends at 3pm doesn't help much if you work until 5. We checked the hours of every camp we list against a real workday.

Updated Oct 31, 2026

Many camps call themselves full day but end at 3 or 4pm. For working parents, the question is simpler: can I drop off before work and pick up after? We compared every listing against an 8am to 5:30pm workday.

Camps that cover the whole workday

These camps open by 8am and stay open until at least 5:30pm, sometimes with extended care added.

  • YMCA Camp Caddo, Camp DiscoverY and Camp Lobos: 7am to 5:30pm at three Frisco elementary schools, with pickup until 6pm for a little more. Ages 4 to 12, $235 a week ($210 for members). Note that the 2026 season ended in late July.
  • Camp Play Frisco: the city’s own day camp, 7:30am to 6pm at the Frisco Athletic Center, ages 6 to 12. It filled up in 2026, so register the day sign-ups open.
  • ALM Sports Summer Camp: 8am to 6pm at Urban Air in east Frisco, ages 5 to 15, with weekly field trips. One of the lowest full-day prices we list, $180 a week in 2026.
  • Apex Centre Summer Camps in McKinney: 8am to 5pm, with care from 7am and until 6pm for an extra fee. Ages 5 to 12, $280 a week.
  • Alpha Omega Gymnastics Kids Camp in McKinney: an extended day from 9am to 5:30pm, with free drop-off from 8am. Ages 3 to 11, $277 a week for extended days.

Camps that come close

These cover most of the day, so check whether the gap works for your schedule.

How to fill the gaps

  1. Count extended care in the price. A $250 camp with $120 of before- and after-care costs more than a $300 camp that already covers your day.
  2. Use one anchor camp. Many families book a full-care day camp for most weeks and add a shorter specialty camp only when a parent or relative can cover pickup.
  3. Book the early weeks first. Late May and early August are when work schedules and camp seasons line up worst. Several camps start after Memorial Day or end in late July.
  4. Check the timeline. Every camp page shows its hours against the 8–5:30 workday. Then put your picks in our summer planner to see every week of summer at a glance.

Common questions

What counts as a full workday?

We use 8am to 5:30pm, which covers a typical 8-to-5 job plus a short commute. Each camp page shows a timeline of its hours against that workday, so you can see any gap at a glance.

Is extended care included in the price?

Usually not. Most camps charge extra for early drop-off and late pickup, often by the week.

Do full-day camps provide lunch?

Most ask kids to bring a packed lunch, often nut-free, and provide snacks. Check each camp page for the details.

What if every camp I like ends at 3pm?

Pair it with a camp that has late pickup, or book a half-day specialty camp in the morning and a full-care day camp for the rest of the summer. Each camp page shows its hours against the workday, so you can spot gaps before you book.
