How to find a last-minute summer camp in Frisco (2027)
Popular Frisco camps fill fast, some within days of opening. If you're planning late, or a week falls through, here's where to look.
Updated Oct 17, 2026
Registration for the most popular Frisco camps opens in winter and early spring, and some weeks fill within days. If you missed it, don’t panic. Plenty of good camps still have space later, if you know where to look.
Start with camps you can book by the day
These are the easiest to fit around a changing schedule, and they rarely sell out a whole week at once.
- Make Expression Art Camp: morning art camp near Stonebriar, booked by the day ($60 a day in 2026), ages 5 to 12.
- Alpha Omega Gymnastics Kids Camp in McKinney: single half, full or extended days, ages 3 to 11.
- Code Ninjas Frisco: six coding, robotics and STEM camps, 9am to 3pm, by the week or individual days, ages 6 to 14.
- Canyons Youth Climbing Day Camp: sign-up stays open until midnight the night before each camp day, ages 6 to 12.
Then try camps with lots of weekly options
Camps that run many different programs at once have more seats to go around.
- One River School Art Camps: many weekly art camps by grade, in morning, afternoon and late-afternoon slots.
- Little Elm ISD X-STrEAM Camps: more than 20 half-day STEAM choices, open to families outside the district.
- Write On Creative Writing Camps and brickLAB Frisco: half-day weeks across most of the summer.
Know which camps go first
From what we saw in 2026:
- The City of Frisco’s Camp Play Frisco filled up.
- Every Frisco week of the Texas Legends basketball camp sold out.
- Younger age groups at the Heard Museum nature camps sold out.
If one of these is your first choice for 2027, sign up for registration alerts and check our registration calendar so you’re ready on opening day.
Late-planning tips
- Search by week, not by camp. In our camp directory, filter by the week you need to see every camp that runs then.
- Be flexible on half day vs. full day. Two half-day camps, or a half-day camp plus a sitter, can cover a week when full-day camps are full.
- Join waitlists, then keep looking. Families change plans all spring. Some camps, like the YMCA, post updated availability online during the week.
- Look a little farther out. McKinney, Prosper and Little Elm camps are often a short drive from Frisco and may have more room. Enter your ZIP on any camp page to see the distance.
- Ask the camp directly. If a week shows full online, call or email. Cancellations don’t always show up on the website right away.
Availability changes daily, and these patterns are from 2026. Always check with the camp before planning around a spot. See our summer planner to keep track of what’s still open.
